Lauren Timlick
Biologist II - Ecotoxicology, IISD-ELA
Lauren Timlick is a Biologist II - Ecotoxicology with IISD Experimental Lakes Area.
She previously worked at the world’s freshwater laboratory as a fish biology and toxicology research assistant, where she performed sample collection by angling, trap netting, seine netting and gill netting, as well as sample processing and dissection.
Her research background is diverse and has included work on subsurface hydrology in the prairies, geochemistry of traditional carving stone in Nunavut, and the effects of climate change on the optics of freshwater. Lauren holds a Master’s degree in environmental science from the University of Manitoba where her research focussed on the effects of oil spills on smallbodied freshwater fish.
